Connect Visily to Jira to add Visily boards or elements directly inside Jira tickets. This helps your team review design context, discuss requirements, and track design-related work without switching between tools.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Access to your Jira workspace
- Permission to install apps in Jira
- Access to the Visily board or element you want to add
Install the Visily app from the Atlassian Marketplace
- Log in to Jira.
- Click the Settings icon in the Jira navigation bar.
- Select Apps, then click Add apps.
- In the Atlassian Marketplace search bar, search for Visily.
- Open the Visily app listing.
- Click Get it now.
- Confirm the installation and wait for it to complete.
- Follow any on-screen instructions to configure permissions if required.
After installation, the Visily app is ready to use inside Jira.
Add a Visily board or element to a Jira ticket
- Open the Jira ticket where you want to add Visily content.
- In the ticket sidebar, find the Apps section.
- Click Visily to open the Visily panel.
- Paste the URL of a Visily board or element.
- Click Add.
The linked Visily content will appear inside the Jira ticket.
View and manage Visily links in Jira
After adding a Visily link, you can:
- View the embedded board or element inside the Visily panel.
- Use zoom controls to review the design.
- Open the design in full-screen mode.
- Focus on specific elements when needed.
- Add up to 10 Visily links in the same Jira ticket.
- Remove a link by clicking X in the top-right corner of the embedded board.
If more than two links are added, they will be organized across multiple pages.
Access private or deleted boards
If a linked Visily board is private, users may need to sign in to Visily before they can view it.
- Users who are not signed in will see a prompt to log in or sign up.
- Users without access permission will see a Request Access option.
If the linked board has been deleted, signed-in users will see a Board no longer available message.
Note
- Jira users must have access to the linked Visily board or element to view private content.
- Installing the Jira app does not grant access to private Visily boards automatically.
- If your team cannot install the app, ask a Jira administrator to install or approve it.
