Why connect Visily with Slack?
With the Visily and Slack integration, you can:
- Preview Visily links in Slack: Share a Visily board or element link in Slack and see a rich preview with the design name and thumbnail.
- Stay updated on comments: Get notified when someone mentions you, replies to your comment, or reacts to a comment.
- Receive board updates in Slack channels: Link a Slack channel to a Visily board to receive team-wide comment updates.
- Customize notification preferences: Choose whether to receive all notifications, only mentions and replies, or no notifications.
- Share with teammates faster: Invite teammates to Visily from Slack using Share via Slack Contact, without entering email addresses manually.
Connect Visily to Slack
- Open a Visily board, then open the Comment section from the right sidebar.

- Open Comment Settings. In the Notifications section, click Connect to Slack.

- Follow the Slack installation flow and grant the required permissions.
If your Slack workspace requires admin approval, you may need to wait for a Slack admin to approve the installation. After installation, Visily link previews and Slack notifications will be available based on your notification settings.
Use Visily in Slack
After connecting Slack, you can use the integration to keep collaboration moving across Visily and Slack.
- Preview Visily links in Slack. Paste a Visily board or element link in a Slack message to generate a rich preview with the design name and thumbnail.
- Receive Slack notifications for comments and mentions. Get Slack notifications when someone mentions you, replies to your comment, reacts to a comment, or adds comments based on your notification settings. You can also reply to Visily comments directly from Slack, helping you continue discussions without switching back to Visily.
- Manage Slack channel settings in Visily. Connect a Visily board to a Slack channel to send board-level comment updates to that channel.
- Share boards with Slack members. Use Share via Slack Contact to invite teammates to a Visily board directly from Slack, without entering their email addresses manually.
Note
- Slack notifications depend on your selected notification preferences.
- Link previews may depend on the recipient’s access to the shared Visily board or element.
- If Slack admin approval is required, the integration may not work until the Slack admin approves it.
