Diagram Templates in Visily
This article explains what Diagram Templates are in Visily and how to use them to create diagrams faster.
What Diagram Templates are
Diagram Templates are premade templates for common diagram, planning, and brainstorming use cases. In Visily, they are organized into three categories:
- Diagram & Flowchart
- Strategy & Planning
- Meetings
How to access Diagram Templates
You can access Diagram Templates in either of these ways:
- Open the Diagram Template Dialog by selecting Add new → Diagram templates, or press D.
- Open the Diagram Library and go to the Templates tab.
How to use Diagram Templates
Access from the Template Dialog
- Open the Diagram Template Dialog.
- Browse the available Diagram Templates to find one that fits your needs. When browsing Diagram Templates, you can:
- Use the search bar to find templates by keyword.
- Use the category filter to narrow the results by diagram type.
- Click Preview to review a template in more detail. You can also adjust the zoom level while previewing.
- Choose how you want to add the template to your board:
- Click Use on the thumbnail.
- Click Use this template from the preview view.
Access from the Diagram Library
- Open the Diagram Library and go to the Templates tab.
- Browse the available Diagram Templates.
- Use the navigation arrows to quickly browse the diagrams in a category
- Or click View all to open the full library for that diagram category
- Use the search bar to enter keywords and quickly find what you need.
- Click Preview to review a template in more detail. You can also adjust the zoom level while previewing.
- Choose how you want to add the template to your board:
- Click Use on the thumbnail.
- Click Use this template from the preview view.
Once the diagrams are added to your board, start editing them to match your product and design needs.
Notes
- Using Diagram Templates deducts Template Credits once they are added to the board. Diagram Templates cost 20 credits per template.
- The search bar in the Template Dialog and Diagram Library works across tabs. You can search from all tabs of the dialog, and the results will appear across all tabs, so you can find and insert what you need more quickly.
- If you cannot find the template you need, try searching other Visily design libraries first. If you already have a reference design, you can also import it using the Visily browser extension or from Figma. You can also choose Generate with AI and let Visily AI create a design for you instead.
