How to export designs as PDF

This article explains how to export designs as PDF in Visily. You can export design elements, screens, sections, or your entire board as a single PDF file.

Export as PDF from the Export dialog

  1. Open the board that contains the designs you want to export.
  2. At the top-right corner of the board, click Export.


  3. Select Export to image/PDF to open the dialog.


  4. In the Export section of the dialog, choose what you want to export:
    1. Individual screens: Export one or more selected screens as separate pages within a single PDF file.


    2. Individual sections: Export one or more specific sections from your board


    3. Entire board: Export all content on the board in a single PDF. 


  5. In Format, select PDF.


  6. Choose the export scale you want to use at Scale


  7. Arrange the order of the selected screens or sections if needed.


  8. Click Export to download the PDF file. 

Export selected designs as PDF from the canvas

  1. Select the screens, sections, or elements you want to export on the canvas.
  2. Access the export option in either of the following ways:
    1. Right-click the selection, then choose Export to image / PDF


    2. Use the Export option in the selection toolbar, then choose Export to image / PDF


  3. Choose the export scale you want to use.
  4. Select PDF to immediately export your designs as PDF files.

If you export multiple designs from the canvas, each one will be exported as a separate PDF file.

Notes

  1. Visily also supports exporting designs as images in PNG, JPG, or WebP format, as well as exporting designs to code.
  2. On the Free plan, export scale supports 1× only. Upgrading to a paid plan lets you export at higher resolution and without watermarks. 
  3. For better quality, keep the selected export area under 16,000 px in width or height. Larger exports are automatically resized and may appear blurry.
