How to request access to a board or folder
Request access when you cannot open a board or folder, or when you need edit permission for something you can already view.
How to request access
- Open the board or folder link.
- If you do not have access, click Request access from the access request page.
- If you already have view access and need to edit, click Ask to edit where available.

Your request will be sent to users who can manage access for that board or folder.
How access requests are reviewed
When an access request is sent, the board or folder owner will receive a notification email.
They can review the request from the notification dialog in Visily. Opening the notification will take them to the Permission requests section in the Share dialog.
From there, they can approve or deny the request. If approving, they can grant the appropriate roles, such as Viewer or Editor.
Note
- If your request is approved, you will be able to access or edit the board or folder based on the permission granted.
- If your workspace has reached its guest editor or license limit, additional licenses may be needed before an edit request can be approved.
