How to set up your Company Domain

How to set up your Company Domain

Set up Company Domains to help coworkers with the same company email domain discover and join your workspace more easily. You can also use company sharing settings to control how they access shared boards and folders.

Before you start

  1. Only Admin permissions (Workspace Owners and Workspace Admins) can access Company Domain settings.
  2. Only corporate domains are accepted. Public or educational domains are not supported.

How to add a company domain

  1. Open your Workspace menu and select Workspace settings.

  2. Go to the Company domains tab.

  3. Click Add domain.

  4. Enter an email address using your company domain, then select Send verification.
  5. Check your mailbox and verify the domain within 24 hours.
Once verified, the company domain will be added to your workspace.
Info
The domain of the Workspace Owner and Workspace Admins may be automatically added to the workspace.

Manage access to your workspace

For each verified company domain, you can decide whether users with that domain can discover and join your workspace automatically.
In the Access to workspace section of the Company domains settings, you can:
  1. Allow or prevent users with the domain from discovering and joining the workspace
  2. Set the default permission for new users who join through the domain

Alert
New Editors require available licenses if your workspace is on a paid plan. If no licenses are available, new users can only join as Workspace Viewers.

Manage access to folders and boards

InfoAccess to folders and boards setting using Company Domain is available on the Pro and Business plans.
After verifying your company domain, you can make it easier for coworkers to access shared boards and folders. Users with the selected company email domain can open shared links without needing individual invitations.
To set this up, go to the Access to folders and boards section in Company domains settings, then select the company domain you want to use as the preset sharing option.

You can still update sharing access for specific boards and folders from Company sharing in the Share dialog.
From there, you can set the link permission so anyone with your company domain can access the board or folder with Can view or Can edit permission. You can also turn off company sharing for that specific board or folder.

Remove a company domain

To remove a company domain, click the X icon next to the domain and confirm your action.
Removing a company domain prevents new users with that domain from automatically joining the workspace or accessing its folders and boards.

Note

  1. You can add multiple company domains to your workspace.
  2. Company Domain settings help manage access for users with verified company email domains, but board and folder sharing settings may still apply.
  3. If you’re using a verified company domain email while creating a new workspace, you can decide if other Visily accounts using this domain can join as either editors or viewers by selecting the appropriate checkbox.
