Public and restricted access in Visily

Control who can open your shared boards and folders by choosing between Restricted and Public access.

Restricted access

With Restricted access, only people who have been invited can open the board or folder. Use Restricted access when:
  1. The content is confidential or for internal use
  2. You need to control exactly who has access
  3. Different users require specific permissions
Invited users can receive Can view or Can edit permission based on the access granted to them.

Public access

With Public access, anyone with the link can open the shared board or folder without an individual invitation. Use Public access when:
  1. You want to share content with a wider audience
  2. Recipients only need quick access through a link
  3. You do not need to manage each viewer individually
Public-link users are not considered Guests unless they are also invited by email.

Change the access setting

You can update the access settings for a board or folder from its Share dialog. For step-by-step instructions, see How to share a board or How to share a folder.

Note

  1. Anyone who receives a public link may be able to forward it to others. Review your content before enabling Public access.
  2. Changing the setting back to Restricted prevents people who are not invited from accessing the board or folder through the link.
  3. Available sharing options may depend on your workspace plan and permissions.
