Set up SAML SSO for your workspace

Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to log into multiple applications or websites using a single identity provider (IDP). The Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a widely used standard for managing authentication and access.
This article explains how to set up SAML SSO for your workspace in Visily. SAML SSO lets members sign in to Visily through your organization’s identity provider (IdP). 

Before you start

Before setting up SAML SSO, make sure your workspace is on the Business plan, and you are a Workspace Owner or Admin.
At the moment, SAML SSO can only be set up if your identity provider (IdP) is one of the following:
  1. Microsoft Entra ID
  2. Okta
  3. OneLogin
  4. Google SSO

Set up SSO

In your workspace, open Workspace Settings. Go to the SAML SSO tab and toggle on Enable SAML SSO. This opens the SAML SSO configuration dialog.
  1. Configure SAML SSO:
    1. Click Edit configuration.
    2. Enter the required information from Visily into your IDP configuration, including Workspace ID and Assertion Consumer Service (ACS) URL
    3. Enter your IDP’s metadata into the configuration. Depending on your IDP and preference, this can be done with Metadata URL or Metadata XML.
  2. Verify your domain for SSO authentication
    1. Enter an email address that uses the domain you want to set up for SAML SSO.
    2. Click Send verification. The domain will appear as Pending until verification is completed.
    3. Check your inbox and open the verification email from Visily. Click the verification link in the email.
    4. After verification, you will be redirected back to the SSO settings page. Confirm that the domain now appears as Verified.
Once the domain is verified, your SAML SSO setup is complete and ready to use.

Configure login method

Choose how users can log in to your organization:
  1. Only SAML SSO: Users must log in using their SSO credentials only.
  2. Any method: Users can log in using any available method, including SSO.

Configure automatic membership

Choose how new users should be added to your organization when they sign up through SAML SSO:
  1. Not allowed: New users cannot join the team automatically.
  2. Allowed as a team viewer: New users will automatically join as viewers.
  3. Allowed as a team editor: New users will automatically join as editors.
