Use Sticky Notes to quickly capture ideas, add annotations, organize information, and collaborate with others directly on your Visily board.
Before you start
Make sure you have permission to edit the board and are in design editing mode.
Add a Sticky Note
You can add a Sticky Note in any of the following ways:
- Select the Sticky Note icon from the board’s bottom toolbar.

- Open the Diagram Library, then select a note from the Sticky Notes section.

- Press N on your keyboard.
- Select an existing Sticky Note, then click a + icon around it to add another note in that direction.

After adding a Sticky Note, enter your content and move or resize it as needed.
Customize a Sticky Note
Select a Sticky Note to open its toolbar. The available actions include:
- Color: Change the note color to group related ideas or highlight important information.
- Text formatting: Customize the text style.
- Hyperlink: Add a link to a webpage, document, or other reference.
- Autofill text: Use AI to generate or replace the text content based on your instructions.
- Show or hide author: Control whether the note author’s name appears.
- Export: Export the selected Sticky Note as an image or PDF, or send it to Figma.
- More actions: Access additional options such as align, arrange layers, copy, duplicate, and delete.
Tips for organizing Sticky Notes
- Use different colors to represent topics, priorities, teams, or statuses.
- Keep each note focused on one idea to make the board easier to review.
- Group related notes inside a section to keep larger brainstorming sessions organized.
Note
- To create a bulleted or numbered list in a Sticky Note, type a bullet symbol (*, -, +) or number, then press Space. Visily automatically applies the list formatting.
- Drag the Sticky Note’s boundaries to resize it, or enter precise dimensions in the Layer Properties panel.
