How to change the mouse wheel behavior on the canvas
Choose whether scrolling the mouse wheel pans vertically across the canvas or adjusts the zoom level. This lets you use the navigation behavior that best matches your workflow.
Before you start
Make sure you have access to the board.
Change the mouse wheel setting
- Open a board.
- Open Board settings next to the zoom controls at the bottom of the canvas.
- Choose one of the options: Scroll to pan vertically or Scroll to zoom
The selected mouse-wheel behavior is applied immediately.
Scroll to pan vertically
When Scroll to pan vertically is selected:
- Scroll the mouse wheel to move vertically across the canvas.
- Hold Shift while scrolling to move horizontally.
- Hold Command on Mac or Ctrl on Windows while scrolling to zoom in or out.
- Click and drag with the right or middle mouse button to move around the canvas.

When Scroll to zoom is selected:
- Scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
- Click and drag with the right or middle mouse button to move around the canvas.
